The things that make it special that don't show up in any tech sheet or head to head comparison.
Having an automobile designed by the same guy who designed the F-1 engines for Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Nigel Mansel.
Having an automobile designed by the same guy who designed the NSX.
Having an automobile Hand Built by the same people, in the same factory that build the NSX
Having a hand built (and superbly ballanced) engine designed just for this automobile.
Having a LANDMARK engine that revs to 9000 RPMs and produces a RECORD 120 HP per Liter.
Having a Commemorative 50th anniversary edition automobile.
Having the quickest shifting shortest throw transmission on any production automobile.
These are just some things that mean something to me that go beyond raw performance numbers. This automobile is very special because of these things as well as because of how it performs. This car was not just some marketing strategy cobbled together from the corporate parts bin, this car was made by proffesional enthusiasts for an enthusiastic public to savour.
Very few automobiles are this special. Enjoy the moment people for we may never pass this way again.

Bieg: thanks for your post that pretty much sums up all the reasons it should be what it is.. a true enthusiasts sports car, i didn't know all of that stuff either. like that the car is hand built. is it completely hand built like a ferrari or lambo? or just the engine. either way its the sweetest piece of machineary one the road.. if you rated cars pound for pound like you do fighters. its the Roy Jones, Jr. or Prince Nasha-whateverhisnameis of sports cars.
Although a bit old.... this article gives some pretty nice technical details about the design and construction of the stook as explained by Shigeru Uehara.
