Wow... sorry for causing so much debate guys. Nothings gonna come outta this, so we'll drop it and when im done i'll post pics for all to see, and we can each make our own decisions. If this project of mine is done well, it could be VERY tasteful, if not, im a poor bastard who muffed his car up. Lets just wait and see Beig, i agree and see your point. You see our car as one of the only true sports cars on the road, where a certain breed of drivers are the majority of the owners. Drivers who are all about the road and none of the BS. I was there, and i still am. Nothing is better that breaking my S out the day after the worst day of my life, and i've had plenty of those. Unfortunatly the worst day of my life was the day i hit a deer, and.... well... i couldn't drive her the next day, and still can't;( You make good points beig, as do others, i just like being creative, i plan on doing the intake, headers, calipers, wheels, detailed engine, all of it, just in time. Peace

Brandon

Hmmm, morning lads. In the interest of S2ki harmony this is the last I will say on this.

I think I've said all I need to say about the project in two or three threads. I expressed the irony of having a driving simulator in a car, the ergonomics issue (centre dash is a much better idea me thinks), and also my personal take on it (it's not for me, but to each his own).

Bieg - you should have realised by now that it's me that gets sucked in. And here we go again.

Your last post negating responsibility is an interesting one. Yes I got personal and that has no place here, but can't you see that you also get personal? Saying someones intended plan is bad taste is personal. Taste is subjective. Insult the taste and you're insulting the subject.

Signing out.

Well bieg count me in as being old as well... Siper he is right and you are wrong in this one. I have no problem with anyone's ideas for their own car... short of making the car an unsafe one on the road. Even that will not stop most people... I see slammed civics and caddilacs either scraping speed bumps and rr crossings or hitting a bump and bouncing nearly out of control... now you can see em' coming due to the telltale blue glow from the windshield washers!! Most of it I have to laugh... I am sure lots of older adults laughed at my early vehicles... I just never had a $30k vehicle to make look stup... I mean be so creative with... when I was younger. To each is own and if this is construed as an attack on anyones individuality or creativity ... sorry. It should not be construed as a personal attack though. Bieg is correct on another matter (beside the taste thing), if you put creativity on display... you have to accept the con with the pro.

You can easily say I don't get the whole slammed - shaved - cleared - blued thing... and you would be correct... cause if 1 or 2 did it, it would be creative... since a large majority do it... it is the norm.

Every now I see a genuine great sounding import/big iron/ whatever ... car going down the road with a lowered but improved stiff suspension, better wheels and tires (less weight for the shocks to damp/more grip), improved intake/exhaust that works... unfortunately these cars are not the norm. I also hear some great sounding audio systems... they are not usually the ones the will be heard from the thumping 2 blocks away.

I have chosen to drive a great running, stiff suspended car that will hold its own with the best of the best... no changes needed. Would I put a turbo/sc solution on it any time in the future... maybe but only if I could upgrade the rest as well. Of course the only reason I know that there is a need for stronger axles and diff's... is the others who have paved the trail... would I consider an XBOX paving the trail.... no.

Oh an another thing... I suggested rear speakers to fill in the sound in the cabin over 2 years ago... the general comments were... they would ruin the purity of the car. Even Rick failed to see what a brilliant solution putting speakers in his headrests would have been. Funny thing is Lucid came along and made a turnkey solution out of the need and wala instant business. The point is... no one thought much of my idea... but it did not offend me nor require anyone to start getting personal. It sounds like Mr Xbox has taken the cons in stride as well so I hope his next idea is better so I can get a few more roads paved for me.
