I was thinking about making copies of the conference we had with Honda during our visit to Tokyo this summer and thought it would be a good way to raise some funds for the S2KCA. All profits would go towards the club, not to my or anyone else's pockets. And definitely not into Mr. Pockets' pockets.

The conference is an hour long and it's pretty informative...not in an earthshaking way, but for all you S2000 collector types, I think it would be a great addition to your collections...you would get to see two of the leading S2000 engineers from Honda translated by another Honda employee, David Lida. One of the engineers brought a photo of his S600 that he was so proud of. He doesn't own the car any longer, but you could tell the admiration and love that he had for it.

The conference took place at the Twin Ring Motegi and I can also throw in some other footage...perhaps the test drives that we took in the VGS S2000 around the gymkhana at the Motegi, etc. Maybe of ASIMO, Honda's robot. Perhaps some of the Honda collection museum, too...

So, if the VHS tape were in the neighborhood of 15-20 dollars and a little less for S2KCA members, of course....what would be your interest level?

Post!

I would be in. DVD or VCD format would be even better though.

I'd love a VCD of it, too. Once you get it onto your HD at a reasonable resolution and framerate (a real PITA, in my experience) it's just a matter of running the CD-R drive for a while. IIRC, media costs are like $0.34 for a blank disk these days, in packs of 100.

The forum of the conference was open. The engineers sat in front of the room and we asked questions of them for the whole hour. Lots of different topics relating to the car were discussed...too many to list, but that is the general format of the discussion we had with them.

I'd be in for $15-20. VHS or DVD is fine. VCD would be fine as long as it plays on a DVD player.

VCD's will play on most DVD players. I believe this would be the best option if you could make it available in VHS for those out there without DVD players. I'm sure someone out there would help you with the conversion process with the best equipment out there.
