I had a 91 Accord Coupe 5 speed which I was working on making it fast, then I crashed it and my son talked me into buying an S, I never even thought about an S before that, I've had mine for 6 months now and I love it. It took me a few weeks to learn the car, getting in and out, shifting gears smoothly, taking street corners fast without spinning out, etc.

The only two Evo owners I know are (or in one case, were) quite knowledgable about cars, and respect (or respected) the S2000 for what it is. One of the two crashed his Evo a few days after buying it and will never fully recover. The other one says that the time he got to go for a ride in my S2000 was "a dream come true." I think the haters in the Evo thread are just like the haters here, in that they only hate because they don't know any better. Thankfully, not all Evo or S2000 owners are the same.

My brother went from an FD RX7 to an Evo5 back in the day. He got bored of the Evo after a month because he felt it didn't take half the skill to drive it than it did to drive his RX7. That being said, the car was really fast point A to point B but thats about it.

In the end, I'll always respect the Evo because they're incredible machines, but driver interaction is way more important to me (and as my brother found out, to him as well ). It's all about the thrill of driving, and I feel sports cars like the S or the RX7 etc give it best, even if they're not the fastest.

You get wankers everywhere though, plenty of subie or evo crazy guys here in Malaysia who won't listen to any of this.
