Another S2000 vs Evo Thread
Hey guys, first post, nice to be here.
I'll get to the point. Out of all seriousness, just how hard is it to surpass an evo in acceleration? I've been reading the evo forums, and no offense to them, but all they do is bash on how the s2000 is slow in a straight line. Many in the past have attempted to explain that the s2000 isn't meant to go straight, fast. But of course we know the story of ignorance on those forums.
I realize especially with awd, evos(ESPECIALLY MODDED)can be insanely fast. Now, we all know s2000s handle much better than evos under the hands of a good driver, but the reality is, it will most likely take something near a professional driver to actually bring out the true sports car within the s2000. 9k rpm is nice, convertible is nice, but what the s2000 really needs in favor of the average driver is more power.
I need you guys' input on just how much power to the wheels, and roughly how much it will take, to surpass a milded modded evo in a straight line overall. I'm not expecting to take an evo with everything possibly done to it running on race gas, but I'd like to see the average evo on the streets in my rearview mirror.
Lets pretend money isn't an issue.

Hmmm...Headers, Testpipe, Single outlet exhaust (preferrably 70mm piping), VAFC tune, Lightened flywheel, 4.57 or 4.77 gears. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to pull with these mods.
I stayed about even with a friends Sti from a 60mph roll, me being stock...so I'm pretty sure these mods would help a whole bunch.

Err sorry if I was a bit confusing, or maybe you understood and I'm misunderstanding
.
I don't mean to pull on a stock evo. I know it doesn't take more than a supercharger to do that(not from a dig of course). I mean like mildly modded evos, ones that you wouldn't call stock.

Perhaps you could get one of these:

That'd be the same thing as saying "my honda engine sucks, so I'm going to swap out for something better", not exactly what I want to do.
Thanks for all the input, my goal is to show the cocky evo drivers that they really aren't that fast, especially when straights and corners are combined.

I didn't encounter anything, so this wouldn't belong there.
And honestly, you have no right to tell me my goal is stupid, unless you like being picked on for something Honda never intended the s2000 to have in the first place.
Okay I apologize, "mildly" may have been a little too much. Lets just say.. an evo with i/h/e. I doubt I'd run into anything much faster on the streets.

lol your so wrong. there are plenty of hatches that will SPANK evos with bolt ons in straight aways. and no, they arent boosted. So when you say you wont run into anything faster than an evo w/ those bolt ons, i doubt it
