Are you really supposed to bang into the rev limiter all the time like that?

Looks like he overrevved a couple times while downshifting.

Also, he seems to keep his foot on the gas as the tach flashes red and the car keeps moving. I've never kept my foot down when there's a flash, but I know fuel cuts off. What's going on?

Even people who aren't into cars can learn from this video: Don't wear white sock with black shoes.
I think this is done to view the footwork better on camera. Even though white shoes would make that even better! I have some video's of Ayrton Senna testing the NSX on a circuit and even him had dark brown shoes and white socks. It seems most video's with this kind of testing and camera view, the drivers are wearing white socks... Or do they have something with those white things? I would assume black ones would make the car even faster

plenty of double clutching, trail braking, and rev matching to learn from
I don't see any double clutching.

And.. most important.. Carpeted Console!

At the end (9:50') there is a shot of the prototype in a garage (changing oil after 3000 miles?) but I could not see what kind of tires it has.
Its clear the wheels are 6-spoke, unlike the MY00 5-spoke wheels.
Also the camber isnt extremely negative, as far as one can see on a picture.
It would be nice to know what was changed on this prototype and how much difference there was from the production model.

IMO he's just bouncing of the rev limiter.
Instead of shifting into a higher gear right before a corner he just keeps his foot down.

Great video!

LOL, you're not "supposed to" bang into the rev limiter, but it's there becuase nobody's perfect. In autocrossing there are actually times when it is quicker to let the car ride the rev limiter rather than it is to shift gears. On the track there are often times and situations where the rev limiter ends up being a shift indicator. It's not something you're supposed to do, but it is something that happens and doesn't do any harm.

I installed a Modifry redline shift beeper so I could shift at redline without having to look at the tach, and most race cars have some kind of shift indicator (a light or beeper) that the driver can see without taking his eyes off the road.
