ya that looks like a lot of work really cool though, thanks for posting that thread. That might be something i will attempt when im feeling braver.

I believe the stock one uses Orange LEDs

DJ Qube had to replace these with white ones (using a blue filter). White ones burn hotter and I think might be happier with a different voltage, hence the unreliability. This is from memory so it may not be the whole story.

anyway, the operation is a PITA. You have to dismantle it and solder in white LEDs.

You could maybe try blue ones (I think they are more expensive, though) or even red ones. Or green.
