This is a no-brainer as the company is paying to ship it both ways. TAKE IT!!!!

i lived in lugano for two years, went to the american school in switzerland. it would be a dream come true to have had a car like the s2000 at that time. don't worry about a thing, your dream is about to come true. heck, i'd just like to go back for a visit! they speak 5 languages in switzerland, so some places it is called the "autostrada", but i tell you it is the most beautiful place on earth and made just perfect by throwing the s into the mix! DO IT!
ps don't forget to go to the villa d'este in cernobbio, italy, for the annual concorzo d'eleganza, prob around april, 2009. the coolest cars in the world are displayed, even the bmw MM....]My Webpage

In addition to what has been said:

- S2000 in Switserland in winter is not a good idea as they seriously salt their roads, you should have a cheap car for the period November to March
- Summer is loads of fun
- No speeding on Highways, Swiss fines are scary, cameras are really well hidden
- Your S woun't be a very special car there but they respect other cars more then what I am used to so parking hits are rare

Good luck

Choose option 3. I'll watch it for you while you're gone

Thanks all for the feedback. Especially from our Swiss/EU members! Very useful info. If I bring it over, I can see I will be using the cruise control a lot. Those fines are STIFF! hopefully one can have more fun on the rural roads.

I hadn't even thought about the winter thing.

I forgot to mention that my company will either ship my car or provide me a company car (likely something lame). So I could use the company car for around town, winters etc.. and pay to ship to my S over--will have to see what it will cost. But the way I see it---you only live once. If this could be as exciting an experience as it sounds, I should just do it. The money won't help me when I'm dead anyway....

thanks again. Sounds like I need a videocam mount to document some of those drives!

I posted this in the international forum but no replies.

Would any European members hazard a guess as to whether a bone stock 2008 will pass necessary MFK (or other) motor vehicle tests in CH?

Or is there a chance I'll need to make modifications to be in compliance with emissions?

I have no idea if S2000's sold in Europe are the same as US. I guess Honda could tell me...
