Default Invidia Questions

I am seriously considering the Invidia through evo auto sports group buy, but I have some questions regarding it.

1st - Will it pass emissions? (if noise is an issue will the silencers help?)
2nd - In NJ I am guessing it is illegal to modify the exhaust system, how much is the ticket worth?

Thanks!

As long as you have a cat on your car emmission shouldnt be a problem. Yea, it is loud but it sounds like an exotic car now. I have not had a chance to try the silencers yet, but I have hears they do help. The drone on the freeway can be bad, but, it can be controlled with the accelerator. There is a great group buy going on now in the group buy section from evelotuion auto. Call steve, he is a great gut to deal with. you wont be sorry you got this exhaust.

I've never heard an exotic car drone like an Invidia. Buy HKS if you want an exoticar sound!

I'm 18 -- the louder the better! When I get older and I pick up a sedan then maybe I'll get a quieter exhaust but untill then...time to wake up the neighbors!

But seriously, anyone have any idea how much a ticket is for an overly loud exhaust

Also how hard is the install, I am guessing 30 - 60min?

Thanks

For what reason...to loud?

I'm only home (sometimes) on the weekends and I rarely get to actually drive my car, when I do it is usually just a spirited drive by myself. It is by no means a daily driver, more like a weekly / monthly driver so I don't think it will be to bad. My dad however does drive it time to time...I figure when he does he can just stick the silencers in

I will try to add some constructive information.

I have had the Invidia exhaust for about 2.5 years. I love it... but have a few warnings.

First... in every state (at least to the best of my knowledge) it is illegal to change exhaust outside the stock system. But as I know you are aware... everyone is doing it... so it will prob not be an issue... unless you run into boss hogg and they decide to be a $#%#@ about it.

Second... yes the "resonators" or baffles help a TON. I would say they cut the sound down about 70%. Down side to the baffles are that they look like Sh!t. On top of that.. .they cork the system back up. Nevertheless... I put them in if I go on a long highway drive (to a destination) and pop them out when I want to flog away. Taking the baffles out is simple.. and only takes a few minutes.

Third... I can tell you that the quality of the exhaust is great. It is high quality SS all the way back to the cat-back (and I spec steel every day... so trust me the quality is there).

Fourth... I like the bling factor... like the badge on back

5th... Beware... the drone can get irritating around 3-4K in rpm. I find it worst at about 3.3K. You can control it with gearing and gas... but bottom line is that you get used to the drone... but it is pretty resonate.

6th... under overpasses... in garages... and in tunnels... the sound is incredible.

7th... Its fun setting off other car's alarm system.

Bottom line... Invidia is loud. I personally like it... and I am not an 18 year old kid. It does not sound rice... and really gives a great sound while flogging so you don't hit that dreaded rev limiter.

Mine is not a daily driver however... if it were... I would either get the Spoon... HKS... or keep my baffles "resonators" in.

As far as HP gains..... it does give you some... but who really cares... its the sound we are want right!

Thanks vbmarcus for some honest answers! It does sound like everything I want in an exhaust that I will only be listening to once or twice a weekend maybe! If my family ever wants to drive it I will teach them how to install the silencers (simple).

as far as tickets, I've seen them around 120 I am guessing. I guess I could simply say it is stock as they will probably have no real proof that it is to loud or not...cops around here do not have db readers.

I can't wait to order this baby monday!
