Default Invidia Testpipe Video Comparison

Well as some of you know, I did a complete video comparison of the invidia exhaust vs the stock exhaust. Since then, I've had a couple requests to do one on an invidia exhaust with a testpipe. So I finally got around to doing on this weekend.

Some things to note:

The video does not show just the invida (without testpipe), it only shows Invidia + testpipe. Unfortunatly the clips were on my older computer and I wasn't able to trasnfer them over. Also this video was shot and recorded with a different video camera so the vid quality isn't that great but the sound is pretty much dead on. All Sound readings were taken with the same decibel meter as the last video and taken from the same distance (approximately 4 feet back from the exhaust tips).

I should add that I am not using the invidia testpipe; at the time I purchased the exhaust it was not yet released (I'm using the T1R). However, as long as the testpipe is not resonated (megan racing one), they will all sound the same; they are simply straight peices of pipe (FWIW, I would have gotton the invidia tp if it was released at the time I purchased my exhaust).

Cliff notes for those of you who have 56k,

situtation ------ stock ------ invidia ------ invidia with testpipe
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Idle cold ------ 73.8 -------- 91.8 -------- 97.8
Warm idle----- 70.7 -------- 75.5 -------- 69.8
3k ------------- 70.4 -------- 99.7 -------- 96.2
6k ------------- 86.3 -------- 103 -------- 105
9k ------------- 92.5 -------- 108.7 ------- 114.8
In car --------- 76.4 --------- 90.5 ------- 80

As you can clearly see, the invidia with the testpipe is louder from the outside. However despite what some people say (saying its louder on the inside even with the testpipe), this is PROOF that the testpipe DOES INDEED REDUCE in cabin drone by nearly 10dB! For those of you who do not know, a decibel is on based on the logarithmic scale (NOT linear) so a 90.5 vs 80dB is ~10 times louder (my math might be off, I don't have the forumla in front of me)! In fact, its almost the same dB reading as a stock exhaust crusing at the same RPM!

I encourage anyone who wants an invidia exhaust + their testpipe to head over to the groupbuy steve@evolution is having. I bought mine from him at a great price and loved the service.

You can't beat this exhaust for the money. Hands down, still the nicest sounding exhaust out there for this car (IMO).

Now steve, send me more exhausts so I can make more videos

That goes for any of the board sponsers, PM me about making more comparison videos with other exhausts. However, this video is reserved for steve@evolution's groupbuy and may not be used in any other promotional sale or use without, first, the consent from me.

Thank you, hope you all enjoyed it

Sounds wicked bro, good work... Definately DOES NOT sound like a civic or integra or accord or any other 4 banger with an aftermarket exhaust(i.e. fart cans) like some folks may wonder... That sound is in a league of its own...

9K RPM FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Testamonial: I just installed the V3 on my '06 last week and the sound is definatly worth the price when considering aftermarket exhaust.
Although I didn't buy from Steve I wanted to state my satisfaction with Invidia. The system is stainless and polished to a chrome like finish. The welds are flawless and the burnt tips are at a slight outward angle as they exit the underside (attitude).
I have a TP but have yet to install it. The car is going to be driven from Calif. to Fla. next month and by the time I get back it will be due for it's first scheduled service. When this is complete, I'll install the TP.
I have no experience with any other stainless system so I can't comment on anything other than Invidia.
IMO, if you are willing to pay more for an after market exhaust, make sure it's titinium.
