Not many of you will remember, but I used to post here quite a bit before. For those that do.....ahem....with my promise to post an image of my s2k with my girlfriend scantily clad I have yet to break a promise. In my absence I have 1.)gotten married! 2.)went to europe on a 3 week honeymoon! 3.)gave up my $silicon valley job to spend my days writing music and loafing at my new place in san francisco....of course tinkering with my s2k (plus work on my vespa and lambrettas!) is a given (; ...which actually brings up the reason i'm posting.
Here in s.f. EVERYBODY is into the Honda/import scene. Of course that has it's benefits.. but the downside is that a lot of people willl mess with your car if they're not happy with thiers. Someone slashed my rear window (no big loss eh?) and stole my emblems (with a lot of paint damage), my cd changer and coincidenatlly a pic of my wife I just got back from being framed. Ummm and lastly screwing up three of my rims before figuring out I had locks. Well, the question is I have enough from insurance to: a. buy all stock parts or b. go for it in mods.
What do you guys think? Suggestions on rims?
Top? (new colors) audio? I have mb quarts already, with amp,sub in trunk, and new head unit to ponder. My car is black/red cleared front lights, oem white turn signals, and aluminum honda kit for interior. Hopefully I can show some of you bay area guys ny car this sundays meet. I reallly would like to hear what the boards opinion on stock vs modified is.

p.s. those ugly orange things from the turn signals is free to anyone who wants em...(remembering a post)

regards, -m

Why don't you invest in covered monthly parking?

If Manhattan is between 350 and 450 per month, I doubt SF could be much more. Then again, I guess that's only affordable if you're a true superstar (not a posuer that talks about beautiful women, but can't deliver).

Really sorry to hear about your misfortune. Doesn't that kind of stuff make you sick!

I'd suggest....screw the insurance for all you can and get the mods - but more important - get the best and loudest car alarm you can find (especially one with a motion sensor). Good luck. Hope you get your car back in shape really soon.

P.S. Congratulations on getting married. Have a happy life.

WORLD!

Welcome back, v-2000. I saw your name and immediately recalled your broken promise of photo of girl w/ car.

Anyway, I can attest to your parking woes in SF. My brother lives right on top of Russian Hill and luckily he has a garage for his Legend. I was there on business once and rented a car because I needed to be in Walnut Creek. Well, I visited my brother one night and drove around for 45 minutes and never found a space. Parking is worse in SF than it is in Chicago!

Anyway, your question is a difficult one in that it really is your personal taste. Were I making the decision, I'd probably do some kind of aftermarket wheels, one hell of an alarm and since S2000 badges disappear from your car, I would debadge the whole thing. I know folks who have done that...I like the look.

Your decisions, but that's what I would do...

Welcome back! And congrats on the nuptuals!

Yeah flying I am..... huh? My last few posts here were all about the freedom of speech! And nobody was on my side that time. Greg, thanks for the welcome back. Good sound advice.I thought I might spark a little war on stock vs. mods but I might have to wait a few years for that. As for the alarm...a must. But which one? all thoughts appr.
