Why did Honda need to advertise it? The types of enthusiasts that were going to buy S2000s sure as heck knew about them. For the first year or two, prices remained above MSRP in most areas. For a niche car where you only plan to build 8-10k per year, there's no reason to waste millions of dollars in advertising.
I agree with you 100%.

I knew a kid that had one five years ago. Thought he was out of his mind tryin to afford one. Still, I had no idea what it was. It wasnt until my friend (EVF2000) showed me his that I immediately fell in love. (i kind of copied his )

But yea, I never really even saw them on the road either. But I like it that way. It keeps the community tight nit and mostly for enthusiasts. It makes me smile everytime I am driving through a random state and some random person in another S2K waves at me. I hope we never lose that connection as a community.

I feel as if the S didn't succeed as much as it could because it wasn't too publicized.

the pink s2k was a girl car for sure, but the one the asian guy was driving at the race wars or whatever looked like a beast. "he must have 10 grand under the hood of that car!" hahahahaha. riced out, sure, but not girly at least.
