It's always the same reply...owners who want the S2000 to stop production, and potential buyers who want more improvements. Those owners are just jealous that future S2000's are getting better, even if there are only little improvements. And potential buyers just want more for their money.
As for the answer to your question, it's just rumors now.

Actually I dont care if they stop production or not. Just don't bastardize the car by putting a automatic transmission in it, and turning it into something mainstream, which it was never meant to be.
Thank god Honda Japan controls production. If it were up to the idiots at AHM, they would be cranking out 25,000 S2000s per year.

Stop production because we're jealous of the "improvements" made each year? hardly. No offense, but I personally am glad I have an 01, because I do NOT like the interior of the new 02's. That all red interior would just irritate me personally. If anything, it's not like we couldn't trade in our car if we were that hard on for the new "improvements".
I would rather them stop production to keep our car rare. Besides, it'll eventually even out the yuppies that don't know how to drive our car and are on their 2nd and 3rd cars. lol

If they stop production, what will my next car be. I will have to spend $80,000 to get something that drives like this. Don't wanna spend $80,000. That would slow my savings to get that McLaren I am waiting for.
I thought the I-VTEC system is only on the top end of the motor? If they just mod the I-VETC on the head, I really don't think that's hard to do. A lot of Civic rodder had been doing LS-VTEC for years, the latest thing now is the CRVtec (using CRV block and B16A Vtec head to get the best of both world without turbo- Low torque from the long stroked CRV crank and the B16 VETC head for the high rpm!) Over 200 Hp at the wheel and 157 ft/lb of torque! That's what i'm going to drop in my CRX!
It will out take a S2000 without NOS or turbo!

Plus I heard After 2004 all Honda engine will be I-VETC! Check out the DN-X! It's also I-VETC.

Reason I asked was because a buddy of mine who was a tech and now a service advisor and also an S2K owner mentioned to me that Honda has been tossing the idea around already. I did a search for iVTEC, but search sucked. So I thought I'd ask.
I'm not to fond of the all red interior either, but it seems to grow on you.
