make a set of these
out of 2x10s. Drive up on them and then use the jack.

I have the one from Costco. It's great, but too tall to fit under the front of the car. So here's what I do. I jack up the rear first, then that gives me enough room on the side of the car (just behind the front wheel) to get the jack in there and jack up the front.

I have not got my car yet, but I bought a S2000 jack and bar from Honda today - the one that comes in the trunk. It quickly raises the side sills enbough so I can put my big floor jack easily under the car.

I also have a tiny floor jack that I use in the same way - I find a stout point under the side of the car and jack it, then use the big floor jack. When I lower the car, either of the "mini-me" jacks provides the breathing room needed.

On Dr. T's recommendation, I splurged and bought an AC DK13 HLQ for $500 - I got it today, and I have to say, it is the Rolls Royce of jacks - awesome construction, and the lowest clearance I have ever seen on a hi-lift, pro quality jack - only 80mm.

Very, very nice - props to Dr. T.
