Default jacking the car

Well, I went out and got a nice Craftsman floor jack for a great price, 29 bucks!, and a couple of jack stands. Question is, where do you all place your jackstands when jacking up the car? I found the jack points for the jack but am wondering if you place your jack stands under the frame in back of the front wheels or somewhere else? Thanks for any info.

The jacking points are in the FAQs. I don't know much about your Craftsman floor jack, but there aren't many jacks that are suitable for the S2000, because it is so low to the ground. Let us know how it works out.

I use the Craftsman jack in question and it indeed slides under the front of my car to the center jack point. I should note that I do not have a front spoiler. There's not a lot of room for the handle to go up and down at first due to the "play" between the handle and the - what I'll call - "receiver". I usually put my hand around the base of the handle / receiver for the first few pumps to minimize the play. After that, it's smooth sailing.

Excellent -- sounds like it's time for me to go get a Craftsman floor jack. What model do you have, DaveZ?

I answered his question. It's in the FAQs. All right, here's the damn link, since it's obviously too difficult.

For floor jacks that do not clear the low front end (most), you can drive onto a couple wooden boards first or you can use the jack that came with the car, jacking from the side jack point, and raise the car enough in the center for the floor jack to clear. Just remember to do a two step drop when reversing the process.

Actually, I think wanabe is correct - we haven't answered the question and the link provided does not clearly answer it either. I'll do my best to clear it up:

Use the link provided above to find the front and rear "center" jack points. Make sure you chock the wheels not being raised to preven the car from rolling backwardswhen raised. Once one end of the car is up, you should put the jack stands under the side jack points. These are the ones that you would normally use the scissor jack on. The "Changing A Flat Tire" section in your owners manual will give somewhat of an idea where the side jack points are if you're not too sure. Be careful with your jack stands to make sure the saddle of the jack stand does not allow the car to settle too low and hit one of your side panels.
