jacking the car
How's this........
If you plan to change oil, clean wheels, and store your car on jack stands {when storing for a long period of time}
1. Engage parking brake and loosen the lug nuts.
2. Raise passenger front with the scissor jack several inches to make room for floor jack.
3. Raise front of car with floor jack use center lift point 28" back of the front bumper, put stands under front/side jack points and lower the car onto them.
4. Raise rear of car with floor jack on base of the differential, put stands under the rear/side jack points and lower the car onto them.
5. Pull the wheels.
6. Put oil pan under car, remove drain bolt and drain oil, and remove filter.
7. Moisten new filter rubber with oil, replace filter (7/8ths revolution after contact)
8. Replace drain plug with new washer (29 ft lbs), refill oil, insure oil cap is replaced and tight.
9. Start car and let run for a couple of minutes; check for oil leaks, and double check level using dip stick.
10. Clean wheels / wheel wells and wax the wheels.
11. Inspect each tire for wear. Locate the wear bars. There are small arrows on the sides of the tires to pin point the wear bars on each tire. What your hoping to find is even wear across the tire and around the tire.
12. Replace wheels and temporarily tighten the lug nuts.
13. Raise rear of the car off stands, remove the stands, and lower it.
14. Raise front of car off stands, remove the stands, putting the scissor jack under passenger/front of car.
15. Remove the floor jack and then lower car front with the scissor jack.
16. Retorque the lug nuts to 80 ft lbs.
