Exclamation J's Racing ECU or painted CF Vented hood?

Ok so just got my ricks headers and man they are sweet! Next mod is now J's racing ECU to go with my I/E/H combo so I'm guessing I can get some good gains right? It should cost me close to $1600- 500 for my stock ECU = 1100... or would you get a CF TS hood?

If I go this route I'll see if a board member wnats to sell their painted hood since I don't have time to get one painted with my busy work sched.

I was going to wait until Dec to buy a new mod but I just got a nice bump in my salary so more mods!!!! If you have a nice painted CF hood I'll give you around $1k or more cash

I dont want gears since I don't track my car and don't have the time to get them installed along with not having a rrputable place to do the gear install here in seattle. My cars feels beefy now so maybe an ECU is all I need

any other suggestions is great!

I personally think cf hoods are ugly one way or the other, painted or left cf. It looks very ricey to me and I'm definitely one of the younger s2k owners around. I would definitely go with a J's ecu. I believe with the ECU you want to invest in the 3 mugen cooling mods. I just got my coolong mods today, only about $160 extra.

How is this even a question. The stock hood is so light, you can lift it with your pinky finger.

J's ECU, what good would a painted CF hood do? It already looks great.

I would go with the painted TS hood and leave the vents CF. What kind of increase are you expecting from the J's ECU, a few hp?

There is a link in the jdm tuning forum where some one just did the mugen or J's ecu. They had some good gains, especially pre vtec

Let's see, horsepower that you can use while driving around, or a hood that is as heavy or heavier than stock and is no better than the one you already have...
