Default JDM Key Questions....

I have a JDM key.
Went to my dealer to get a copy made so that I can remove the imobilzer chip and install it in the new JDM key. I dont want to cut up the keys that came with the car.
The dealer told me that all I have to do is tape a key to the ECU....says thats how they do it for remote starter cars.
Im going to get the JDM Key cut and try this out.
I will let everyone know how I make out.

The JDM keys look great for about a month, then they start to get all scratched up and look like an expensive piece of you know what.
