If you're talking about the 3.0 to 3.2 engine ('96 - '97)...

The 3.0 to 3.2 change doesn't seem much, but it certainly showed on the track along with the 6-speed tranny. In the 1/4, the NSX gained a good .5 seconds off the 3.0 time and the gearing helped the NSX on many tracks.

I think alot of what they fixed will probably be emissions issues. They just keep getting stricter and I'm sure Honda is looking down the road for what they need to do to keep this car legal everywhere.
