i believe he means that the jdm taillights sidemarkers dont LIGHT UP, and that its only a reflector.

 

If I am correct in thinking that JDM and EURO spec taillamps are the same (I am pretty sure they are) the EURO versions do NOT have reflectors at the side. Just a piece of red plastic in the same spot where USDM version have a true reflector with a separate lightsource behind it.

Here's a request to anybody from Europe that can make a flash picture of the rear at 90 degrees (to see that the side reflector isn't there) and one (without flash) from 45 degrees with lamps switched on?

I'll try to do the same tonight (as I have USDM lamps on my car).
