Default Jet Ski towing

Hey guys I just bought a Sea-doo three seater jet ski and was wondering if any of you have ever towed anything behind yours, if you have any experience with this please let me know. I do also have a BMW 535 which I am getting a hitch put on, but was still curious if I could put in on my S2K, thanks

i built a custom toe hitch for my 928 porsche 4 towing my kawasaki x-2 ski.
It worked great and got quite alot of looks whenever i showed up at the launch ramp. I also pulled it with my last bmw 2002 which had alot less motor than the s2k. The s2k should handle a lite weight ski no problem, just go easy on the clutch! THere is an article somewheres on this site about a custom tow hitch for the s2k.

Since you already have a 535 which will have a hitch on it, then it seems rather stupid to bother with it on the S2K. I'm sure it would void your warranty if you had any engine or tranny problems.

Pay attention to your owner's manual -- DON'T TOW ANYTHING WITH YOUR S2000!

I only know of one S2000 with a trailer hitch and it's used strictly for a bike rack.

I know of at least 2 that tow a lightweight trailer around on a semi reguar basis, with no obvious consequences. Pulling a jet ski (especially a fairly heavy 3 seater) out of the water is very different though, and I'd strongly discourage attempting it. I'd follow STL's suggestion and use your 535 for towing duty.

If you throw caution to the wind, Dalan makes a hitch for the S2000, which sells for $275 with a max tongue weight of 200 lbs and tow rating of 2000 lbs.

The manual says that putting a trailer hitch on your car will void its warranty. Dont do it! Even if you never use the hitch, honda can void your warranty on the grounds that there is a trailer hitch present, which is specifically warned against in the manual.

It blows my mind to think that someone would actually consider putting a towing hitch on such a car. I always laugh when I see a Civic or Integra with a hitch on the back. If you need to tow something go by a truck.

Typically they are track trailers - extra wheels and a toolbox. And not everyone can afford/justify a truck just for towing something around. And while I agree that it's kinda silly looking, not everyone is in a situation to have multiple vehicles for a very limited purpose. For example, a truck would be my 3rd vehicle and would get used solely for towing the S2000 and hauling crap, and parking at my apt isn't exactly great to begin with.
