Is the "over the shoulder" view better with the hard top than the soft top? Obviously with the soft top up you can't see a thing over your shoulder, but it looks like the hard top has a MUCH larger rear window...

The view is much better than with soft top up, but not as good as topless.

Sounds like everyone is happy. I will probably leave mine on most of the time. I thought about tinting my windows with it, but then no one could see the stud with the hardtop inside

Actually, I live in Westfield too. Welcome to the site. My car is not my daily driver either, but I just like the look so much. You should get together with the Indy crew sometime. Where exactly do you live?
Small world. I live in Centennial. Are you familiar with that subdivision? That would be cool to get together with other S2K drivers in the area. Do you belong to the Indy Crew you mentioned?

I think the black cover top would look a lot better on your black car than a red one would on my NFR. Also, if Honda comes out with major improvements on the '06 (if there is an '06), I might decide to trade mine in for a new one. Therefore, I wouldn't want to spend more money on a top or anything at this point. If Honda doesn't come out with an '06 or the changes are very modest, then I'd definitely keep my car and be more open about adding some things. Again, your black on black would look so much better than red on red or black on red for me. The top just looks better on certain colors.

You might be surprised how good red on red looks. Check out this link:

If you do go with an 06', if you get the same color, you can trasfer the HT to your new car.

Are you trying to get me to spend more money?

That does look nice. Much better than I thought. The black trim on the bottom makes it come together cleaner. I'd really have to think about it. I just don't know if I'd want to spend the extra money on a hard cover for a vehicle that I primarily got for the open air. Did you say you paid $1800 for your hard cover? Thanks for the pictures!

I also like the look way better with the windshield tape removed.
Are you referring to the clear tape that is on the front of the HT where it meets the rubber section of the top of the front windshield?
The parts I am talking about are numbered 10 and 11 in the picture.

Parts 10 and 11

Those items are there to prevent premature wear of the rubber gaskets and to prevent premature ware of the painted surfaces of the HT.

I would suggest you order those items and reinstall them if they were removed.
I never removed mine but conformed it with hartopguy that these items should remain on and be replaced if they start to wear through.

I also love the HT should have got it right away when I first got the car.
I had the entire soft top components removed to allow a Carbon fiber sub woofer enclosure to be placed behind the seats.

No, he's referring to the tape that's covering your windshield frame (not the hardtop). All US models come with black tape over the windshield frame (so that it looks nice with the soft top I guess). Anyway, underneath that black tape, your frame is painted body color. Some people take the tape off when they put a hardtop on. Look through some of those pics posted again. You'll notice the edge around the windshield on some of them is black, while other have it body color.

SO that Black tape is to be taken off when the hard top is installed?

Is the paint under neath a full paint job.
Clear coated??

Well, you don't HAVE to take it off. I like it better with it on b/c I feel the windshield looks too big when it's off. Plus it matches the softop nicer. The paint underneath is fully finished with clearcoat and all. You just have to use some goo gone or something to get rid of the residue from the tape. British models don't come with the tape at all.
