Default Just bought "OEM" Lip... Bent and mangled

I just bought an OEM lip from a member of S2KI.com. The lip came twisted into a small box, probably half as long as the lip. The guy literally twisted the lip into a pretzel to make it fit inside the box.

How bad is this, and should I ask for my money back?
Plus, no hardware or rubber seal.
The lip seams to be made of some kind of hard rubber, not polyurethane.
Is this even real OEM?

Sun, time, all good.

Mounting hardware and seal could be another issue though.

If this were one of those cheap poly lips from ebay, then I'd say no problem. But an OEM lip!!!? They seem far to ridged to be bent up like you described. In fact, I would expect the plastic or the paint to crack.

I ordered an OEM lip, which came in a properly sized, but flimsy, box. The carrier mangled the box all to hell. I was pissed to find that the lip had two very noticeable kinks in it. I installed it anyway to see if they would disappear, but one of the kinks is still there. It's not very noticeable...I'm probably the only one that can notice and I can deal with it. But, I bet if I had folded the lip like a pretzel, the kinks would be far worse and I wouldn't be able to deal with it.

To answer your question, the lip is most likely not OEM. The OEM comes with a rubber seal and does not feel like some kind of "hard rubber"

If you can post some good pictures, someone might be able to tell you for sure if it's OEM or if it's fixable.

Before you rip the seller a new a$$hole.....

Let me ask you this?

Is the lip 100% bare (no paint and no primer?)

If so, urethane is EXTREMELY pliable without paint. I have repaited my amuse replica 3 times myself, and when the lip is bare, I can tie a knot with it.

The primer/paint is what gives the lip all of its stiffness. Bare it is VERY soft, and WILL feel like rubber.

Urethane DOES NOT memorize shape after curing, so no matter what you do, it will return to the original shape.

IF the lip is painted, then go to town on him, otherwise, no harm.

That's a replica you just purchased. The seal? Flexible? I hope you didn't pay more than 30 dollars for it.

There is no way that the OEM lip could be bent in such a fashion. Immediatly from your description I though "ebay". I have read through several horror threads from people who have bought the urethane lips off of Ebay to find them folded and twisted like a pretzel when they got to the door.

Here are some things you need to check to confirm it is NON-OEM:

-There should be a grey seal which runs along the top of the lip where the lip and bumper make contact.

-The ends which anchor inside the wheel well behind the bumper should be thick, with 2 indentions about the width of your finger with a hole in each for your anchor screws
