He didnt say it was OEM. The OEM lip IS NOT urethane.

Its a urethane REPLICA. You cant get an OEM lip without paint.

They grey seal you can just get at AUTOZONE. Get the 3M double sided tape (the thinner one) and youll be as good as OEM. Youll need a friend to help you fit it before you paint it. Reason is that since its so soft, you cant mount it by yourself and check the fit. Have a friend help you out, see where it needs a little help, and sand off the excess. A decent replica will NOT need much work. My amuse replica looks better than any other that I have seen, however, I did do a little fitment work on it....very little.

I think he was questioning it by the ""s. He then asks "Is this even real OEM?" I agree though, the lip needs to be heated and then relaxed and it should fit properly. I was just clarifying the differences between the "OEM" and "Style" lips.

I would guess he misread and bought OEM style rather than OEM. The description he gives (rubber like) is what urethane feels like, so 99% it IS urethane, which means its NOT OEM.

Before you rip the seller a new a$$hole.....

Let me ask you this?

Is the lip 100% bare (no paint and no primer?)

If so, urethane is EXTREMELY pliable without paint. I have repaited my amuse replica 3 times myself, and when the lip is bare, I can tie a knot with it.

The primer/paint is what gives the lip all of its stiffness. Bare it is VERY soft, and WILL feel like rubber.

Urethane DOES NOT memorize shape after curing, so no matter what you do, it will return to the original shape.

IF the lip is painted, then go to town on him, otherwise, no harm.
if i were the seller i would't twist a merchandise like that just to fit it in a box.

There is no way that the OEM lip could be bent in such a fashion. Immediatly from your description I though "ebay". I have read through several horror threads from people who have bought the urethane lips off of Ebay to find them folded and twisted like a pretzel when they got to the door.

Here are some things you need to check to confirm it is NON-OEM:

-There should be a grey seal which runs along the top of the lip where the lip and bumper make contact.

-The ends which anchor inside the wheel well behind the bumper should be thick, with 2 indentions about the width of your finger with a hole in each for your anchor screws
The lip came painted, but I was expecting that. The lip was on the dude's car previously, but he bottomed out a bunch of times and messed-up the paint. There are some scuffs which support his statements.
Also, I do see the four "finger-sized holes" on the two ends of the lip. Plus, there are holes on the bottom that correspond to the holes under the front bumper of my car.
Still, there's no hardware and no seal thingy.

I bought the lip used, and expected that.
But, I did ask for hardware and didn't get any.
I payed around $100 for it.
To be honest, now I wish I had saved-up and bought the true OEM, painted, from hanadaaccessories....

Try working it out with the seller first. Maybe it was a simple misunderstanding. If he won't work with you, blast his name all you want

Good luck bro

FYI- Mounting hardware for the AP2 lip is around $100 at a dealer.
