Default Just did Clutch Slave Cylinder Mod

For those of you with an 04/05 that haven't done this, this mod is a must. I was getting a little frustrated because I felt like I couldn't nail the smooth shifts on this, particularly 1-2. Under hard acceleration, the delay felt likely whiplash and under normal shifting my timing would be off. Well, I took my baby with only 1500 miles and just did the mod - big thanks to Billman and SIIK2NR - their "how to..." threads made this possible in under an hour.

After bleeding (gravity bleed as recommended by Billman - way too easy with the wife keeping the reservoir topped off), took it for a spin. Now, I can shift fast while in VTEC, match RPMs, and it is smooth. No clutch slip, no jerking on 1-2. It really does make a difference. You can feel the clutch again, the exact engagement point when power is coming on - no more guessing/trying to time this. Just felt like anyone that was putting this off didn't realize what they were missing. Since I don't do clutch dumps to drag, I'm not worried about the diff problem. I'm headed to the track Sunday and damned glad I did this before spending a frustrating day out there.

Not sure where you got this data, but it is wrong.

I have an MY06 and can attest to the fact that it does have this clutch delay valve and SIIK2NR and I removed it about a week ago.

The dealer I spoke with today while picking up fluid was the one to tell me the delay was removed. Go figure - the dealer was wrong . Any event I've edited the post.

hpark - if I have clutch problems and it is my problem, I'll simply pay for a new clutch, drop it and replace it myself. In fact, if the factory clutch gives me problems at any point I'll probably just replace it myself - no need for the frustration of dealing with with the dealership. Clutches are pretty simple things and if it fails it will be because a)the mfg built a lousy clutch b)I was a dumba$$ and burned the clutch.

Bigger concern due to $$ is the rear differential, but same scenario except that I'll have to take the pumpkin to someone for assembly if it fails. Any event, I bough the car to drive and this just adds to it. Either way - if something happens it won't be because I did a slave cylinder mod...
