Hi!

Anyone had a problem with the hardtop creaking against the top of the windscreen? I've tried putting vaseline on the rubber around the top of the windscreen but it has made no difference. It's fine when you first put the hardtop on but then after an hour or so off it goes, creaking away.

Any ideas?

Yup! Vaseline on our seals =
The prefered product would be a rubber safe silicone grease meant for automotive window seals.

ps. Mine does not squeak at the windshield but rather at the rear seal. This only happens when it gets waaaaay below freezing. For the rear, I suppose I could adjust the rear latches to pull down harder to fix the squeak, but it really doesn't bother me, so I haven't done it. As for the fronts squeaking, try the silicone grease and let it soak in for a hour or so before wiping the excess off. Failing this, you might need to see if the strikers have come loose. They should have been originally installed with Locktite. Were they?

Are you kidding??!!!! If I did that, I wouldn't be able to find anything.
My wife cleaned it up the last time I went out of town. I ended up buying two new power tools only to discover I already had them. I didn't even see them 'cause of the neatness.

all of these hard top owners...you're making me so jealous. i hear the installation isn't that easy and that it requires some drilling...is this true? how would the rear defroster work? what about a toggle switch for the rear defroster?
