If you know what dealership the car was brought to before, you could check as it would be in the computer at the dealership, but unless you have the paperwork from the previous owner, it will be pretty hard to find what work has been done.

The VIN number on the Honda Owner's link sometimes pulls up the "home" dealership.

Carfaxing the VIN can also tell you where the car was purchased and registered. Depending on the dealership and the state, sometimes there is information on work done on the car.

And I don't think the dealer will "goodwill" a multi-thousand dollar clutch / tranny job for a few noises. Unless you have 10 other Honda cars in your garage and a great relationship with your service advisor, I'd say super slim chance of that.

having worked at a honda service dept. your best bet is to go to a honda service dept at the dealership. be VERY NICE and be honest! they'll tell you what they can and can't do for you. if they like you they're more apt to do all they can for you.

 

isn't the VIN tag in the engine bay "punched" for each TSB that was done? I remember reading that somewhere... try doing a search
