just got a new s2k and got a question?
i just bought a brand new 2009 s2k and gonna pick it up in a few days and i got a question. winter is coming and i would be storing my car, just wondering if it is bad to store it before the break in period is over?
Disconnect battery is a good practice and keep it charged with a trickle charger
Draining the oil is a no-no since you won't have the oil to protect the metal surfaces. You can change the oil & filter to ensure you have removed any built up acids.
Start it up every 1-2 months on warmer days and run the engine to have it fully warmed up. Don't shut your car down cold. Have it fully warmed up before shut down. A cold start shutdown will have rich fuel mixture wash out the oil from engine componets like rings. Add a fuel stablizer. I don't like putting it on blocks rather, just bring the tire pressure up to at least spec and move you car (or spin the tires) once in a while to prevent flat spotting the same area of your tire. Keep the top up.
But to answere you original question, there should be no issues with winter storage whether the car is still in break in or not.
