Default Just installed an '02 shift knob...

on my '01 S2000. Can't say that I like the look of the leather insert, but it's definitely more comoftable... especially if you have to row your way up and down the 405 everyday like me.

Those of you that have driven with both knobs... what are your opinions?

Also, last night, I let a friend drive my S2000 (his APR tuned A4 was rear-ended and then pushed into a truck in front of him and sandwiched). The word's "uncontrollable laughter" were all he could find to describe his first VTEC experience. Then he went on to say that the S2000 is "better than sex" at which point I became very worried for him . Here's hoping the insurance company rules his car a Total... and he gets an "S" of his very own.

The shift knob on the '02 is much more comfotable and dlq04 said it best in an earlier thread that Rick Hesel posted. . .great for the sun belt as it relieves the "too hot to handle" syndrome and the snow belt as it relieve the "too cold to handle" syndrome. . .

Perfect. . .

I changed mine to a voodoo. I think it is better than the stock one.

But then, there would be no reason to wear those racing gloves summer or winter!

I prefer leather shift knobs but find the seam on the rear of my 02' to be uncomfortable. Time to look for an aftermarket knob.

If you want comfort go with a leather knob, '02 or aftermarket. Shift performance can be enhanced by either increasing the weight of the knob (i.e. throw weight) or by lowering the knob (i.e. shortened throw length). The OEM Ti knob is heavier then the stock aluminum knob on the '00 and '01 MY cars. It's sole purpose is to provide improved engagement by using increased throw weight. A Voodoo knob uses both principles, it is heavier, and also sits much lower on the shift shaft. Shift length is reduced by over an inch!

Did you mean shaft length? I doubt the shift throw distances could be reduced by an 1"....
