Is it just me or is the S2000 riddled with problems?I'm 43 and have owned quite a few cars including 3 Hondas and 3 Acuras. This car is driving me nuts! I've got the tranny grinding, read window scratching, clutch slipping bluuuueees! Thank God this car is fun to drive or it would have a 4 sales sign on it!

Except for what I call minor problems, Window, Plastic rear ( mine's not so bad ) all of which I'm not surprised being a first year production car. I am happy and feel it's been rather problem free. ( Knock on wood ) If only the dealers would come around, I think these things would seem to be small inconviences at worst.

19.8k miles, zero problems, zero regrets. (Rear window is taken care of by Plexus.)

Ola, Spectre!

Call Honda regional, make an appointment at Weseloh Honda, have them do the trannie fix and clutch upgrade. You will be happy. The rear window is shit, there's not much to be done with it, except as one of our fellow members put it, find yourself a double jointed girl friend with arms like a gibbon's to clean it from the inside.

You might want to contact HondaClutch out of Maryland (Herson's Honda) who make an upgraded high performance clutch for the S2000. Spoke with them a few weeks ago, dropped by their booth at the SEMA/NOPI show in Long Beach, and just picked up one of their clutches for my Legend LS 6 speed coupe. Installing this week. Stoked. They speak very highly of their product.

Fix the trannie, buck up and drive fast. Be happy.

Spectre, just you and bunch of others. I am pretty lucky so far. No problem. No clutch slipping, or grindy tranny. Rear windows scratching is minor for me. I absolutely agree this car is a blast...

to date (knock on wood) no problems (not even rear window scratches etc thanks to this board and s2ki).

My car's window was pretty well scratched and creased when I bought it (pre-owned, due to dealer markups and getting more on trade in than it was worth).

Otherwise, I've had the TSB for the clutch performed before it was a TSB due to a pretty good dealer to work with...

They however have said the rear window is not a warranty issue, and my AUTO down problem is intermittent.

Now, my alternator is making a squeaking noise, so my car goes in tomorrow afternoon...

All in all, minor items, but I sure hate being without my car.

I had the short block replaced and I still love this thing.
I'll be first in line for a glass rear window.

Is there an option for a glass rear window?

This is definately worthy of being put in the S2KI FAQ!
