Just my luck
Well here im Maryland it rained pretty good saturday night. Some lady decided to jump in my lane to avoid an oncoming parked card and forced me to spinout hitting the curb, hop the median and actually stop going in the right direction. Now I have bent and broken suspension parts in the right rear, a broken rotor and rims and tires are spammed up all the way around. Im going thru the insurance company to fix but my question is will the let me put on aftermarket rims instead of replacing oems? If anyone has any experience with this.
the insurance company will not
but your nice shop repair man might be able to work something out for you under the table
but you sure the car's not totaled??? that sounded like a pretty horrific accident.....

First, this is assuming the insurance company has already decided that the wheels need to be replaced.
I don't know about Maryland, but what they will usually do here is determine the cost to put the vehicle to pre-wreck condition. Then they will cut you and/or the repair shop a check for that amount. What you eventually do with the money is up to you. If you choose to have the repair shop order after-market wheels instead of OEM you'd be responsible for paying any difference. If they are cheaper than the OEM you end up with a few extra bucks in your pocket.

When I spun out due to bald tires, the Insurance company had them refinished. Make sure they won't just do that. Try and avoid the refinishing route, getting them done right is next to impossible.
I haven't wrecked in my s2k yet (thank god) but I did hit a semi in my 01 Prelude... State Farm was more than happy to let me use the check they cut me in any way I wanted. I say ask them about it. Mine let me, maybe youll be so lucky.

absolutly demand all new honda oem parts, insurance companies love to fix cars with aftermarket parts that are lesser quality
from my expeience, the insurance guy comes out and checks out the car, figures out how much to fix and writes the policy owner/ bodyshop/garage a check, they put the bodyshop/garage on there so you dont have to cash it you can just give them the check, just talk to your bodyshop/garage guy and tell them what rims you want, theyl put whatever money is goin towards the new oem rims towards your aftermarket rims, oem rims are really expensive so you might be able to get away with no money out of pocket

Well guys I went to the dealer to see what the deal was with the car and it's like 4000.00 in damage. They are replacing 3 rims and all tires but won't let me do aftermarket, oh well. Funny thing is they lost my amuse style front lip and scratched up the front bumper real bad, go figure.
