I just got a call from the dealer saying my car is ready to go. I had them replace the soft top due to the wear(making holes gradually) on each side. I haven't seen it yet but I am excited to see a brand new top on my S.

 

Did they add anything to the wear spots on the soft top, like a patch to deter future abrasions?

 

Did they replace it with one with a glass rear window?

 

If you dont mind me asking, How much did it set you back?

 

Ok, I just got back from the dealer. Everything was covered under warrranty. The material of the soft top seems to be upgraded. It just feels & Looks better for some reason. From the inside, it looks different too(the way it's installed on those center bar and other bars)

And Dang~~~~~~~the plastic window is crystal clear~ I thought I had mine maintained fairly good but dudes, it's really crystal clear~ like glass~

They require u to pay extra $300 to $500 for retrofitting it. I didn't have any extra cash at the time...so I didn't go with that option. I wish they did that for free but...I think that's asking for toooo much~ Oh, well...one of these days, I'd just get a hardtop when I have enough moeny saved up

 

oh! ok ... so they DID offer the glass windshield... hehe.. ok.

 

$300 for the glass top and it would be a no_brainer for me.

 

No brainer for me too...but if you don't have the cash, you're S.O.L.
