Default Just test Drove an S2k, and I got some questions

Hey Everyone Chikane here,

I've been looking into getting an S2k for a long time running, 4 years now. Anyways today I woke up and saw on carmax that they had a 07 Laguna blue with only 1038 miles on it and it was selling for about 23K. I was excited and went for a test drive.
Now on the test drive I noticed that when I pushed the car into VTEC 6000rpm from 4-6 gear, the clutch pedal shook violently. It was so violent that it took effort to press it down to down shift to slow the car. I was going on the Highway and pushing the car to 90. Then kept it steady at 70mph the entire drive the clutch pedal shook the entire time. Is this normal?if it isnt is it a quick fix?or an expensive problem

Also I had VSA off the entire time, so would it stopped if I had it on? I can't imagine that a car with a good carfax record and only a little bit over 1000 miles could have problems. Please give me some insight, I like to buy this car. Also is it a good price for an 07?after Maryland tax and fees it comes to about 26k even

Thank you I sure hope this is in the right thread

Two things to consider....it does still have warranty from Honda......secondly a new one can be picked up for about $28K out the door if done right

it still has a 36000mile(3 year) warranty, and from the looks of it this isnt a common problem....is it?

i just picked up my 05 with 33k on it and it doesnt shake a bit. There has to be a reason the person sold it after 1k in miles.

okay then is this problem, something Honda would fix since it's within it's warranty?cause I don't see how they would even sell it at car max if it has this problem =/

Walk away. You don't want to start out with someone else's problem.

Yeah this is real iffy, it's like if it's within warranty why wasn't it fixed before it was sold, how come Carmax didn't catch the problem and why would someone sell a car as nice as an s2k with only 1000 some miles on it.

I think what I'll do is first bring up the issue to Honda to see if it's fixable. and Have it fixed within a couple of days since Carmax has a 5 day return policy.

Should I even bother doing that or is this car a dead cause?I'm very scared of buying a car with problem because my current car was bought with problems and Im hoping that this one wouldn't be so bad. Help?
