Browsing the Neuspeed catalog I noticed they have a K&N Recharger Kit (P/N 28-99.500). Quote: "The Recharger Kit is a necessary kit for your K&N filter. Kit includes a 6.5oz spray oil and a 12oz spray cleaner. Includes instructions on proper cleaning and re-oiling."

I haven't heard any of you K&N filter guys mention anything about cleaning and re-oiling. I thought you just did a water wash. Anyone know if this kit is the way to go?

Thanks bbsilver for the advice, and Moleman for the link. This info should be very helpful to the other users out there.

I haven't got my filter yet, but you just saved me buying this kit up front. Thanks.)

Well with mine I know its gonna need some wrok. Though a guy at the shop I used to work at offered me a new one in the box for 25 bucks so im gonna go play with that such as putting the cookie cutter in the ring and test fit.

Then in my leisure time get the kit for the K&N and clean it up then swap it out.

I have owned K&Ns in all my cars, you don't really need to clean them unless you plan on leaving the filter exposed Or driving the car more then 50-100K miles according to K&N.

BTW i have the service kit, i did use it once to re-oil the one on my DSM (TAlon TSI AWD) cause it was getting dirty being exposed and all ......

DUDES.
