Default Kaminary Hood

Has anyone tried this hood? I'm thinking of ordering and am curious on the quality. On paper it looks great.

I did not know Kaminari made a hood for the S. Is it a J's knock-off?

Yes they make one. Check it out here:http://www.kaminari.com/products/s2000hood.htm All carbon fiber with no fiberglass. Quality looks exceptional on paper. They are going to email me some better pictures. A little more expensive than typical knock-off.

Although I usually don't like most of Kaminari's styling, they do typically make very good quality kits. Good quality and fitment.

That's more Amuse-style rather than J's, but I think it's probably a pretty good hood.

The fitment looks great, what's the black edging?

It's made by kaminari and I'm a dealer for them. They do body kits for many cars and this hood looks perfect in person on top and underneath. There isn't a better looking hood for the PRICE. It comes in two versions, both with lifetime warranty. One version comes in fiberglass(cheaper) and other one all carbon fiber. http://www.kaminari.com/products/s2000hood.htm - prices here which I can BEAT by far for the first few orders. Send a pm.

These hoods are very safe as well. The hinges are made with carbon kevlar, for it's sturdyness, all hard wear is all stanless steel, the latch is zinc plated for all types of weather, no hood pins are needed. This hood is built with safety in mind.

If you go with the carbon fiber version, the hood will come gell coated, but it's recommended that you get the hood clear coated at a local body shop to keep the shine so you don't have to keep polishing it. If you look closely at the pics the hood has a black edge around it. This edging is smooth (meaning if you try to feel with with your finger nail, you can't) and really finishes it off for a good transition. No air pockets or scrunched up looking edges on this hood.

I had a custom made one for my old GSR and it fit well after alot of adjusting...other than that it was nice (the bottom is not painted). I have a 2003 Berlina Black S2K now and would be interested in you're input. Please let me know how it fits and if too much water gets in that vent.
