Katan Wheels or Volk Wheels?
Anyone have an opinion?
I'm looking for people who already own either the Katan or Volk wheels. Any reason not to get one over the other?
And looks preference.... which looks better?

this is just like asking weather you should buy a Kia or Ferrari.
the Katana wheels are cheap, knockoff wheels that come in sizes that tend to rice rockets. i will put Katana right down there with Konig and ADR at the bottom of the wheel food chain, so to say. they do not belong on S2000s.
Volks on the other hand, as just about as good as you can get. they are all lightweight, look great, and come in many different sizes. they are not cheap shit knockoff wheels.

Because our vehicles utilize a very high offset, it is quite difficult to get the correct size and style you are looking for.
The Katana (I think that is what you meant to say) are very cheap knock offs. Do you know what they're made from or where they are made? What quality assurance and safety standards do they follow.
Volk Racing (Rays Engineering), on the other hand, are one of only a handful of companies around the world who can forge aluminum wheels. They are lightweight and very strong as opposed to cast wheels. Volk Racing has a machine in house to test their wheels and make sure they surpass strict JLL standards.
You get what you pay for!
If you are looking for Volk Racing products, please PM or email me. They have multiple designs with the proper fitment for our vehicles.
Thanks,
-B

He asked about Katans, but you guys are talking about Katanas, I assume you all are talking of the same rims here?
I am also looking to purchase some wheels in the 17" or 18" variety. Any places you folks would suggest?

Katans are not cheap wheels you guys are making a mistake. the only wheel i have seen though from katan , is a three piece 5 spoke which looks very very heavy. the beauty of volk wheels are that they are forged and for any size, they are very light. I myself have a set of 16 inch CE28's that weigh 11 pounds a piece. The same wheel in a 18 weigh less than 16 pounds a piece. I promise you that the katan wheel in an 18 is no less then 25 pounds a wheel.
They are 2 different style of wheels, volk is a tuner wheel while the katans are more of a upscale wheel. depends if you want ricey or not
