to keep or sell?
Hey Quik do you have radar just curious? For myself at this point, this car is a almost more of a need than a want. Thankfully I do not have a issue with paying insurance but it depends what is most important to you, if you are willing to pay the extra money and make other sacrifices in your life in order to own this automobile then keep it. If you would like to live with a little breathing room that is also an option. It is a matter of priorities.
I have a radar detector in each car. I'm looking at getting one that is hardwired into my S since I am going through 4 AA Batts a week with this cordless. The last ticket was entrapment though and I will be fighting it. Long story and I posted it somewhere. I'll find it in a bit and post it here.
Maybe the MY04's will cause less of the cars to go into the weeds, and rates will drop. Marry an actuary.
This is one reason i like living in the USA - lots of insurance options, and the govt stays out of most things, although now we are getting into the prescription drug handout business. Barf!
I hate Geico - they won't insure the cars I own half the time! They call me and we go through the whole thing, and then they ask me to list my cars so I go Ferrari Modena, Viper, GT3, etc. and they say "we don't insure those cars" and I say "why did you bother me then"?

I think the insurance rates are just going to get worse, as the used S2000s are getting more and more affordable by more people. That's one drawback of the great value of the car!
Actually I would be paying less for insurance on the S here than what I paid for an M3 back in the states a few years ago, but I'm still wondering if those premiums are really worth it if I can drive something that will provide most of the driving enjoyment. The question is... what? That M3 feels really heavy and boring compared to the S2k!
Another thing is the rarity of the S2000 here makes parts really expensive. I run through 200 EUR brake pads in 50 laps of the Ring where someone in a Golf GTI can do 200 laps with 100 EUR worth of pads.

Sorry to hear that insurance is a scam - not just here, but all over.
Who devised this system where we pay for nothing, then if by some chance we DO need a claim our rates go up to "compensate" for their losses?
Any states out there that do not require insurance?
....its about time to move, anyway.
