I am wondering if there are available some sort of blanking plates one can install over the existing door lock key-holes. I allways use the remote to lock/unlock anyway.

The reasoning behind my query is that the potential bad-guy would be diverted to access the car through the side window.

My logic is : broken window = less hassle and bother to get replaced than broken door lock/door Handle/ and eventually damaged metal around door handle.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Jonas

JOnas, my logic says the bad guy would be more likely to put a knife through your roof than smash the window.

Slashed roof = more hassle and bother to get replaced than broken door lock/door Handle/ and eventually damaged metal around door handle.

To expand on my logic,

My black Stook was broken into twice during the first year I had it. Both times they went through the driver side door lock hammering and prying and badly damaging the lock, handle, and bending the surounding sheet metal. Because of this, the car door had to be repainted. On both instances, the first attempt of the painters gave bad results, so car had to go back. Major hassle!

And now that I have a Spa Yellow, I am ceratain no matter how many attempts, the color matching will never be the same

So if the nasties are gonna do something, I would rather they go through the window or even the roof for that matter...

I would get a perimeter sensor car alarm. if anyone gets within 2 feet of your car the alarm goes off, they don't even have to touch the car, just cross an adjustable perimeter. You can even get one that will record your own voice message like "Touch me, you die!"

Ok then, why not do what I do - leave the roof down all the time! If you park under cover or there is no risk of rain - no problem.

I've now got to the point with the Stook that I feel so claustrophobic on the rare occasions the roof is up that I never put it up - not even for car washes (hand wash of course).

Damn dude... you need an alarm with multi point proximity sensors, Like the Clifford 9000, sweet alarm system for top up and down security.
