Keychain Ideas
Something I've been wanting to try out:
The metal part of the keys for the newer Honda SUVs are apparently cut in the same manner as the AP2 S2000s but have a keyfob built in to the head of the key.
The S2000 keyfobs and the SUV keyfobs use different frequencies, I'm told.
So it seems to me that it should be possible to swap out the receiver module in the car to something that is compatible with the SUV-style all-in-one keys.
I haven't yet discovered a thread where anyone has tried this and proclaimed it a success, however.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to do away with the need for a key entirely and have a keyfob system like that of the new Corvettes where the doors unlock and the ignition is enabled just by having the keyfob near enough to the car to detect.
Preferably, I'd like to be able to carry around nothing but the immobilizer chip from inside the key or something similar to it.

Hi guys - I am an EE who specializes in RF. I've started a thread in the electronics section where I'm going to start a project reverse engineering the S2000's ignition and keyless entry system. If you have any ideas let's brainstorm.

You know there's an "old school" solution: leave the S2000 remote at home and use the key. It's a time-proven solution that works, unless you're in some shithole urban area where security is a concern. If that's the case, you should move.

We came to a halt when the only available frequency + fob combo available for us was a 2 button fob that's missing the trunk button. If there was a way to get this fob on the right frequency, it would sell like hot cakes: http://www.lockpick.me/05-chanpin/p-001-1.asp?id=1789. I know I'd be first in line.
i have a non locking caribiner with all my other keys on a separate key ring and the car key and remote on a different one...i usually just leave my car keys at my desk at work anyways...my car doesnt move during the work day but if it has to i just take the other keys off and leave them at my desk
