Keyless entry question
Made a "good" "quick" deal on a new S2000 last week and while getting around to looking over all my paperwork I noticed keyless entry was part of the standard equipment on the window sticker. The dealer never mentioned the feature nor was I offered the one or two transponders or whatever they call them that usually accompany this feature. Were those transponders supposed to be part of the deal? Would like to know before I call dealer and ask. Thanks.
Yup. Most cars these days have keyless entry. It's just a button that locks/unlocks the car remotely. It sounds like you're thinking about those key cards currently in the more luxurious brands where the car automatically unlocks as you walk toward it. That would be cool, but we don't have it. As for as the remote control goes, you should get 2, along with a spare key and a valet key.
I'm a little surprised. You got a pretty brand new car and they didn't have the transponders to give to you? You make sure you get two sets of keys with the lock/unlock transponder, as well as a valet key. Good luck.

Check the "secret" compartment for extras. When I took delivery of mine, this is where the transponders were kept.
Definitely. When I picked my 01, there was an extra antenna and Silverstone bumper plugs! w00t! My new 07 had the manuals in there in their plastic wrap.
