Thumbs up Koni Shocks?

I've searched. Found a little info but not much.

I'm looking for a slight drop, maybe 3/4 - 1" at most. I want a stiff progressive spring that is at least equal to OEM, preferable a little stiffer, might go with Eibach. I want Koni adjustables so I can dail out some of the tightness and upset in the rear end that I experience when I hit bumps during hard cornering and I want overall improved handling.
Who has experience with Koni sport shocks on the AP1? How much of an improvement will this be over stock? noticable?

The Koni shocks are adjustable enough. The question you want here is what spring rate to get for the Eibach springs. You want the Ground Control kit but still, the spring rate is your choice.

I have the Konis + Espilars. Street ride is great...they are softer in compression than stock. Rebound is adjustible to be much stiffer than stock. They make the ride far less jarring.

On sweepers, the shocks compress and then take a set. However, in quick transitions, such as a slalom, they fall behind. For street, they are a very good replacement for the oem. For autox...might need to look at something else or have them re-valved for stiffer compression.

If you are thinking of getting the Ground Control kit to convert to a coilover, I would recommend a different shock entirely. Spend the little bit extra for the Bilstein PSS9 or KW Varient 3.

I have the Eibachs on Konis and they are definately stiffer than stock. Course the dial on the Konis have to be turned more that half to be stiffer than stock. I have mine close to full stiffness allaround and the ride is better than stock. Much less body roll and better dampening. The ride hieght will be dropped around 1.5 inches. That is without ground controls of course. Overall, I like them. Great for the street.

I have seen on Tire Rack that " minor adjustment to stock mounting points is required". WTH does this mean?

One other thing not mentioned above is that they transmit small vibration hits to the chassis more than the stock dampers so there is a small amount of NVH they add to the car.

you have to use the stock plastic schock boots and drill a larger hole in them in order to slide the Koni's through. (pain in the ass).
