Default kumho tire choice

i've driven over 12,000 miles on the kumho asx and they've been a good tire, but i'm looking to move to either the kumho spt or mx. any experience with either tire you'd care to share with me. thanks heaps!

Spt's are more of a regular sporty tire. Mx's are a much more aggressive compound. Compared to stock S02's and RE050's, I'd much rather get the Mx's

Ive had the SPT's on my car since July now (when I got it). I am very pleased with these tires on my car so far as they have a good ride, are semi-quiet, and perform well in the dry and the wet. I got these instead of the MX's because I wanted the piece of mind that they would perform very well in the wet as well since I only have one set of tires. I got these knowing that they are NOT going to perform as well as the MX's, Azenis 615, S02's, etc. If you get these looking for a good all-around tire, (NOT all season), then you will be very happy. However, if youre looking for a good tire during the week and its not driven in the rain, and you might be doing a few autocrosses on them as well, Id look into Azenis or the MX's moreso than the SPTs. They do decently for Auto-x as long as youre not out there trying to get the absolute best time and win your class, but then again thats not what theyre made for either. And one more thing, the SPT's are very cheap tire as well hovering between 70-80.00 per tire from Tire Rack. So yea, all in all, Im pleased with the SPT's, and Im looking to get a set of dedicated track/auto-x wheels to throw some R-Compounds onto when I really mean business.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I put about 35,000 miles on 2 sets of SPT's on my EM1 99 Civic Si as well and liked them there. Its all in what youre looking for with tires as I mentioned before.

i have kumho mx and they are good value, although I dont have a good comparison since i've only driven on dunlop sp 9000 otherwise...

Kumho easily blows them away, but its just a lot better tire compared to that one...

Ive put around 10k on my set of spt's and they are a good all around tire for everyday driving. For the price I cant complain.

Youll be perfectly fine. The spts are def not a tire to rip up the streets and track, but they do what they are designed to do, last and deliver good traction in dry and wet weather.
