Default KW Variant 3 Coilovers on a daily driver

I am doing some research on a future set of coilovers and wanted some inputs from those of you who either own a set of these or have ridden in a car with them. I drive my car on a daily basis and I never track it. I am also not one to say that the AP1 suspension is jarring as I have seen some complain. A bit more stiffness wouldnt hurt either. I also live in West L.a which has some prety crappy roads. So I ended up with 2 coilovers in mind.

Bilstein PSS9 ($1150 shipped, single adjustable, no upper mounts, external reservoirs in the rear- known as a softer setup)

KW Variant 3 ($1650 shipped, compression and rebound adjustable seperately, no external reservoirs, no upper mounts, known as a entry level track setup)

I dont have any suspension modifications to my car and besides purchasing a anti bumpsteer kit in the future I will be purchasing 225/35 or 40 /18 front and 285/30/18 tires for my tires. I will drop the car somewhere between 1.25"-1.75" all around so I definitely want to use the new suspension a appearance modification too.
I know a few members here have or had the coilovers at one point in time and maybe they too can provide some input such as HunterEZ, Windchasers2k (who I inadvertantly ran into when I called KW HQ), and maxrev.

...

So bascially want I want to know is whether or not this suspension is overkill for a non-track driven S2K. I know the spring rates on the KW (515 lb) are almost the same as the Tein Flex and the Bilstein (345 and 285) has a rep for being soft but I really want to invest the money in improving the already well balanced the suspension as opposed to making it tamer all the while eliminating sway.

So what do you guys think?

BTW, before anyone mentions it, I did do a search but the threads that I found (the ones with actual legitimate useful info) were regarding using either OEM tires or R compounds, neither of which applies to my case.

I think that you would be happy with the KW V3's as I have heard nothing, but good things about them. It probably is a little over kill if you don't track the car, but as you said. You want to improve on what the car already has so I say go for it. If you decide to track the car at any point you will have the coilover setup to do it.
By the way where do you find KW V3's for $1650??

Think you may be mistaken on the KW-3's with regard to no external reservoirs.....Mine have them on all four...and $1650....I think you are talking V-2's......

That's what I was thinking. I don't know of anywhere you can get V3's for $1650 shipped or even without shipping for that matter.

The Bilstein are more comfortable and are better suited for a street car. KW are better if you track your car or you want to dump it really low.

I have the KW V3...and if you aren't tracking or autoxing they are overkill. The PSS9 are fine and are actually adjustable for both jounce & rebound but both rates are adjusted simultaneously with the single knob.

i have hunterez's kwv3 and they are fine for dirving around oc but driving around la you really feel the increased stiffness. when driving slow around town on bad roads they fell perty hard but on the freeways they arenot too bad. i dont mind the ride but your passangers will probaly not apricate it.
