Default Labor cost

How much would the labor cost be for replacing an engine??

What part of the engine?? Full drop in ready to go??
Shouldn't be more then a 1000 dollars if you have everything ready to go.

most places charge by the hour not the type of job just call around and ask then call up the cheapest offer and see if he will take a lower price when in comes to mechanic shops always talk to the guy running the buisness (not the mechanics) he makes all the calls. why not just do the swap yourself?

labor usaully costs $50-$120 an hr depending on location

Labor is about 65 - 80$ per hour, but that all depends where you go. If you go to a dealership, you will be paying close to 80$.

Now when you say replace an engine, are you dropping in a new engine, or are you rebuilding and existing engine that is already in the car?
