I don't see how you guys can be paying so much for a car that lists at $34,600. Nothing worng with paying MSRP, but silly to pay over MSRP! And shame on the dealersip for discounting an '06 S2000! You're not supposed to markdown a car that you have so few of and are in limited availability! Boooo!

Not sure how you got the car for that price...seeing as how invoice is ~32K.
I don't know what to say...thats what I got them down to. Edmunds has the invoice listed as $30,633 by the way.

MSRP is $ 34,600.00 so I'd believe in an invoice 3-4k less

look at 2005
MSRP
$ 33,700.00

Invoice
$ 30,370.00

3400 dollar difference.

By the way, I just signed the paperwork for a new 2006 Laguna Blue S2000. Should get it sometime at the end of the month. Got it for 31,583 + tax & license. Now I need to sell my TSX.

^ Congrats, RBR. So, the cars are available that quickly after ordering them? That's great. Back in '02, it took about 3 months to get your car.

Thanks. They gave me the VIN # and the expected delivery date which is the last week in november. I'm in no hurry, since I really need to sell my TSX first, but am really looking forward to getting it.

Huh...nice find on Edmunds. I usually use KBB, which currently doesn't have any info on the '06. I am very surprised to see that there is a ~4K difference between invoice and MSRP. Historically speaking, Honda doesn't have that much margin between the two.

Do what I did, I wrote to pretty much every dealership in Southern California until I found one that would give me the deal I wanted. I know it's time consuming, but to get what you want sometimes you have to work for it.

I don't need to go through all that. I used to work at a Honda dealership. I am cool with the GM and his support staff. I have also bought 4 Hondas from them. So, when I want a new car there is no hassels / negotiations. It is already assumed that I will get whatever car at invoice + a couple hundred (depending on what model).

Sure, a knowledgeable and aggressive consumer could go into a dealership and get the same type of deal, but while that person is spending hours negotiating I am driving away in the car.
