Actually ... the S2000 has one of the worst ones ... the gauge is quite annoying ... I just ignore it and ... of course, end up having the light coming up a lot hahahahah

 

I've been down to 3 bars and I've noticed no 'sudden sink' with the fuel tank.

 

The manual states that you're suppose to have about 35 miles left once the low fuel light comes on, but of course that depends on how you drive (although I'm sure most will not be street racing w/ the light on )

 

when light comes on i can put in 10-11 gallons. i have driven 20 miles with light on, no problemo. i figure it carries at least 12.5 gal.

 

Maybe the 07s are better? My gauge is not perfectly linear, but it works very well with no sudden losses of bars anywhere.

The only strange things are that I can usually go about 40 miles before losing the very first bar, and once or twice I actually gained a bar of fuel while sitting at a stoplight

 

 

1. I've achieved a couple of trips of 30mpg in this car and around town seem to get between 22-25mpg depending on trips and driving habits so I dont think its the SC.
2. High flow fuel pump shouldnt affect 3 bars to zero as is proof by the number of other people in this thread that have the same thing happen and are NA.
3. This could be possible however I'm not going to pull it out for this little annoyancem, its the worst part of the install I've been told.

It's not like I'm trashing the car I'm just pointing out an observation that sometimes screws me. Yesterday I wound up filling up at probably the most expensive station I've seen in NJ. Depsite their inflated prices it probably only cost me an extra $3-4 for the fillup its just the inconsistency once I get to that 3rd bar that bothers me.

So it seems I was pretty damn low yesterday at 11.3 gallons from whats being said here, isnt the rated tank capacity 13 gallons? I'm guessing its like my Prelude where they were being optimistic in their rating.

 

I've driven 60 miles after hitting a REAL zero bars.. i.e. if I turned the car back on it wouldn't magically go back up to one or two bars, or wouldn't jump back up after driving a bit.

I filled up 11.9 gal and got 30.25 mpg that tank.

 

I have run out of gas with my S. I started sputtering about 3 miles out of town and figured, "great, I'm going to be stuck out here in the country at 7:00 in the morning and will have to wake someone up, and ask them if I can bum a ride to town and a gas can".

As luck would have it, I actually made it all the way into town... then stalled out about two feet from where the end of the premium fuel hose would reach. Unfortunately, I don't remember how much gas I ended up putting in the tank. I'm almost positive that I've put close to 15 gallons in my car at least once, though.

 

Depending how hard you drive, the last three bars may disappear quickly. If you ease back on the throttle, you may get 1 or 2 bars blinking back on...

Maybe the fuel gauge is adaptive, taking into account how fast you're consuming the remaining fuel.
