I'm really at a loss over people's obsessions with ultra-small displacement motors--ie all those "the NSX's v10 will be 3.5L" retards--do they all realize that the only reason the motors are that way is because the racing regs are defined in terms of displacement. If someone was building a race car with no limitations I would wager that they would not be using a low displacement motor. Why? the weight difference between a 2.4L and 4.0L v8 need not be very large, so why make a car less torquey and powerful than it could be? Redline bragging rights? I personally think 9k is plenty high.
I never said obsessed. The fact remains that there are regulations. There is no way around that. Of course people want to build a race car with a much larger engine, as more potential could be extracted from it. Frankly, I like the fact that our 2.0L is making as much or more power than many much larger engines. That is bragging rights right there. Plus, who wouldnt want a 10,000+ rpm redline?

I like direct ties to a racing heritage. The 7.0L mill in the Z06 has more than a few things in common with the C6R's motor. The 911 GT3. Ferrari's sequential shifting (like it or hate it, its a direct result of racing technology). A 2.4L Honda V8 would be sick. A rediculously short stroke keeping piston speeds in check, and a better valve train could result in very high rpm operation. Most people I show my car too are far more impressed with 9000 rpm than they are with 2.0L.

I'm just looking for direct racing technology. If I wanted a big motor, I would get something American.

I'm going with XVIPER, it seems like he has a pretty good source.

I don't know anymore. The guy who talks to Jesus is pretty impressive, as is the guy with the "spidey" sense.

Scooter Libby told me confidentially 2012.

But then he outed my dog and she's not gay.
