Default latches on convert top

Hi -

Pretty excited on picking up a 2008 s2000 tomorrow. quick question, on the convertible top, do you have to manually latch and unlatch or is the top fully motorized on the 2008. Thanks

thanks.. although it's easy enough to unlatch, you would think that honda could fully motorize it after 10 years of production

true, but why change a perfectly good design

if it were automatic that would mean more weight.

it would also mean more parts to break and fail, and more expensive to fix.

Manual latches are too damn easy. Why fix something that isn't broken? Honda did a pretty good job at keeping this car relatively light considering all of the extra steel reinforcement and electric top motors... Anything more is just extra weight. Hell, even Evo's don't come with cruise control, and they are heavy as hell. We are lucky to have the creature comforts we have.

i still think that the s2000 should have come oem with a hard top and the soft top was an option...honestly probably would have sold more but would have negated the whole roadster image
