I, too agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. While I, myself will NEVER, I repeat, NEVER put that crap on my car, there are those out there that think it looks good. We can, however take comfort in knowing that there will always be other people out there, whether it be one or 1000 who share the same opinions. That is what our community is all about folks, an ever changing and growing diversity of tastes and styles. Perhaps we can hire Joan Rivers at our next big meet to do a "fashion police" kind of thing with our cars.

What does disturb me the most, are those individuals that take the S2000 parts and graft/install them in/on their less expensive, high volume Hondas or other low price import.

I curse when I see S2000 taillights on a Nissan Sentra:

I cringe when I see an S2000 engine transplanted in some pile of crap:

================

As far as the quality of the posts here taking a dump, I, too, see that happening and as time marches on, it will be much more of a challenge for the moderators to keep it in check. Conversely, I think we've been extremely fortunate that the site has maintained the level of integrity and quality that it has. This is due in large part to the majority of the community being true enthusiasts. Due diligence by the senior members and moderators of our community will go a long way to curbing the negative trends.

S2KI is still the best place to be

i wonder if anyone less respected than rick had started this thread... what comments they'd get in return???
many have said what's been said here, and were told to shut up if they don't have anything nice to say!!!
i know i dislike what many do to their rides, no matter if it's spoon, mugen, real gold, or whatever... ugly IS UGLY!

While I agree on some points, I don't believe that it was necessary to start a whole post about it. We may not like those crazy Veilside, C-west, Amuse, etc bodykits but hey, it's not our money and not our cars. It's one think to post your opinion when someone posts a pic of their kitted cars, but to start another post... is it really that big of a deal? Everyone has different tastes and like different things, life would be kind of boring if everyone were to do everything in the same way.. wouldn't it?

I consider "young" the kids that hang out with their modified cars at the local Dunkin' Donuts because they aren't old enough to drink yet. Generally speaking, you won't find a driver over 30 or so who puts on body kits. I would be more than happy to prove that assertion with a poll, in fact I will do so.

Rick,
I agree 110% with both points. When I first joined, I brag to others in the area what a great board this was ie. not filled with the juvinille rabblings of testosterone filled teens or guys that think they're Vin Disel. I can't count how many post are now filled with F-boms and such. I also want to point out that many of them are "Enthusiast" and not owners. One point to remember though, is that some folks may be joking ie. sarcasim, but due to fact that this is a written format, you can't tell if they're playing or really jerks. I have been guilty of this, and thanks to Airgate for pointing this out. In short, the car and our lil' site has changed. What to do, is another story. Restritct some forums to owners only...well, then you leave out all those folks that come onto the site to learn about the car. I don't know, but I agree the site has changed and maybe the monitors need to step it up and lock out more threads and maybe lock out guest.
