Default Latest Crash

12:00 pm, April 2nd, less than a mile from my house

My Spa Yellow 2001 just turn 5000 miles. I was stopped at a traffic light,
it turned green and WAHM! This stupid teen age girl hit me from behind.

I have the seat all the way back and I hit my head on the headrest. I
was diagnosed with a mild (it doesn't feel that way to me) concussion.

A day later, I'm still having difficulty with my balance. Yesterday I felt
quite dizzy, confused and I was having trouble talking. I couldn't find
any words. It was very strange and scary.

Tall guys might want to move the seat forward a bit

I has seriously considered a Cobra replica, but decided against it because
I didn't feel they were very safe. I don't like to think what would have happened
had I been in a Cobra with those vintage style seats that don't have headrests.

Hope you feel better. I would advise you to be checked out by a physician.

Yes, you are right, the older seats without headrests in such an accident may be more prone to allow whiplash, or worse cervical spinal injury.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I was hit hard in the rear of my Miata in 99 and had a mild concussion. Not as bad as yours but it was scarry. The headrest in the Miata were much better than the ones in the S2000 and I've been worried about this happening. Maybe your story will make me buy the headrest inserts.

Hope you feel better quickly.

Same thing happened to me this week last year. Coming back to consciousness in the middle on an interection with a lap full of glass is a little disorientating. Stuff like this almost drives me to wear a crash helmet on public roads. Don't sweat the car, living through an accident is more important.

I hope everything works out for you. Head injuries really suck.

I hope you and your car are better soon.
I guess she said she didn't see you? Spa Yellow cars must have poor visbility.

I am sorry to hear about the accident. Thank you for spending the time reminding the community of the potential danger. There is a big risk having to deal with unattentive drivers. Hope that you recover soon.

BTW, what type of car was involved in the accident? Was the girl hurt?
